Langerman

Dale Langerman, Administrative Director, started with SFYC in 2000.  She has her BA degree in Business Administration and her MBA.  Mrs. Langerman is married to her husband, John and has 2 sons, Eric and Steven.  She has prior administrative experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor with Burlington Industries, Information Systems Purchasing with Western Electric/AT&T and a SIMS Specialist with Guilford County Schools.  Mrs. Langerman likes to read, walk and play tennis.

Jardina

Melissa Jardina, Education Director and Chapel teacher, started with SFYC in 2009.  She has her BA degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi.  Mrs. Jardina is married to her husband, J.M. and has 2 children, Hunt and Molly.  She has previous teaching experience as a 1st grade teacher for 6 years and is currently the Children’s Ministry Coordinator for Christ Church Greensboro.  Mrs. Jardina likes to hang out with her family.

1 Year-Olds

MacKenzie

Cory MacKenzie, lead teacher, started with SFYC in 2010.  She has her BA degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. Mrs. Mackenzie is married to her husband, Brian, has 2 daughters, Kate and Anna and 1 son, Grant.  She previously taught 1st and 2nd grade in Durham, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro as well as preschool in Asheville.  Mrs. MacKenzie likes to spend time with her family, read, walk, ride her bike, and scrapbook with Creative Memories.

stacey

Suzanne Stacey, associate teacher, started with SFYC in 2010.  She has her BS degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah and a Birth through Kindergarten Certification from Salem College.  Mrs. Stacey is married to her husband, Eric, has 2 sons, Zachary and Will, 2 dogs, Max and Mason, a fish and a frog!  She taught at Stokes County Schools for 3 years before having her first son.  Mrs. Stacey likes to take trips to the mountains and the beach with her family and enjoys reading when she can find the time.

2 A & B

Walsh

Kathy Walsh, lead teacher – 2A, started with SFYC in 1998.  She has her BS degree in Elementary Education and her AA degree in Liberal Arts.  Mrs. Walsh is married and has 5 children, Tracey, Matt, Amy, Billy and Heidi (daughter-in-law), and 1 grandson, Carson.  She has prior teaching experience in 1st and 3rd grades and many years as a Faith Formation Teacher.  Mrs. Walsh likes to walk (2 miles a day), travel to the beach, read, participate in church activities, and collect Willow Tree and Snowbaby Statues.

Simkins

Jan Simkins, lead teacher – 2B, started with SFYC in 1999.  She has her BS degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.  Mrs. Simkins is married and has 3 children, Joseph, Christopher and Katherine.  She has prior experience in a Mother’s Morning Out Program and in other preschools.  Mrs. Simkins likes to read, travel, cross stitch and knit.

2/3's & 3A

Church

Leona Church, lead teacher, started with SFYC in 1995.  She has her AAS degree in Early Childhood Education.   Mrs. Church is married to her husband, Mike, and has a son, Cory, and 2 Greyhounds, Popea and Josephine.  She has o years teaching experience in preschools, namely Mt. Pisgah Preschool, Boxwood Preschool and Walker Avenue Children’s House.  Mrs. Church likes to read, and go for walks.

Mulholland

Tammy Mulholland, associate teacher, started with SFYC in 2005.  She has her AAS degree in Accounting.  Mrs. Mulholland is married to her husband Joe and has 5 children, Erin, Liz, Joey, Ryan and Zach.  She has prior teaching experience from Mt. Pisgah Preschool, Mt. Zion Preschool and CIC Preschool.  Mrs. Mulholland likes to volunteer at middle school and high school, read and walk her lab, Molly.

3C

Fink

Akemi Fink, lead teacher, started with SFYC in 2007.  She has her BA degree in Elementary Education.  Mrs. Fink is married to her husband John and has 3 children, Avery, Jack and Anna.  She likes to read, to collect books and volunteer at her children’s middle and elementary schools, take part in the PTA and scouts.

Froneberger

Amy Froneberger, associate teacher, started with SFYC in 2004.  She has her BS degree in History from Appalachian State University.  Mrs. Froneberger is married to her husband Stan, has 2 daughters, Lauren and Bonnie, and a dog, Trooper.  She has prior experience in the Public Library system in North and South Carolina and the Greensboro Historical Museum in the educational department.  Mrs. Froneberger likes to volunteer at her daughter’s schools and is a Girl Scout Leader for two troops!

4A

Puryear

Carol Puryear, lead teacher, started with SFYC in 2002.  She has her MABS/Certificate from Dallas Theological Seminary, with a concentration in Christian Education.  Mrs. Puryear is married to her husband, Martin.  She has prior teaching experience in Preschool, dance and Church (SS, VBS, Children’s Church, Youth, etc.).  Mrs. Puryear likes to dance, read, cook, garden, and watch old movies and classic TV shows with her husband.

Helton

Ann Helton, associate teacher, started with SFYC in 2005.  She has her BS degree in Food Science.  Mrs. Helton is married to her husband, Rob, and has 3 children, Joe, Abby and Susanna.  She was a member of the PTA and she has prior experience as a Sunday school teacher, in MOPS and as a “Mommy”.  Mrs. Helton likes to spend time with her family, cook, vacation/travel, camp and spend time with friends.

4B

Gilbert

Katherine Gilbert, lead teacher, started with SFYC in 2010.  She has a BA degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Guilford College.  She has previous experience as a second grade teacher at Summerfield Elementary and also in Pre-K at Fellowship Day School.  Mrs. Gilbert is married to her husband, Jeff, has twin daughters, Callison and Hannah, and a son, Noah.  Mrs. Gilbert likes to attend her kid’s sporting events and enjoys scrapbooking.

Sherman

Felicia Sherman, associate teacher, started with SFYC in 2001.  She has her BS degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Western Carolina University.  Mrs. Sherman is married to her husband, Nelson, and has 1 son, Jack.  She has taught the 1’s and 2’s classes as well as our 4B class.  Mrs. Sherman likes to spend time with her family, swim, walk, ride her bike, and scrapbook with Creative Memories.

Pre-Kindergarten

Murphy

Blythe Murphy, lead teacher, started with SFYC in 2008.  She has her BA degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University.  Mrs. Murphy is married to her husband, Terry, and has 2 children, Brenna and Brogan.  She has 5 years prior teaching experience in 1st grade in VA Beach.  Mrs. Murphy loves Auburn Football, going back to VA Beach, and likes to sew, paint, scrapbook and take photos.

Sisbarro

Barbara Sisbarro, associate teacher, started with SFYC in 2001.  She has her AA degree in Business Administration.  Mrs. Sisbarro has 4 children, Julia, Jason, Nicholas and Austin.  She has experience tutoring and volunteering in public school.  Mrs. Sisbarro likes to walk, sew, sing, read and make craft projects.
