Open to all youth currently in 5th – 12th grade Sign Up with a $70 Deposit by February 24This summer, First Lutheran youth have the opportunity to experience an
unforgettable week of hands-on mission projects, music, programs and high adventure group activities. Working through TEAMeffort, participants will serve side-by-side with other youth from other
denominations, as they help people who have been left to struggle with the effects of business and industry closings. Home repairs and renovations will be a large part of the mission, but
relationships formed with people will be something to remember forever. Our first site choice is the Copperhill Tennessee location, but deposits must be made before a date and site can be
reserved. Please check out http://www.teameffort.org/mountains.php for more information. Our total cost per participant is estimated at $350. Our mission trip group will work on Spring
events to help defray this cost. Kure Beach Retreat August 10-14, 2008 Cost $170 Open to youth currently in 7th – 12th grade. Enjoy a time
away for faith building and friendship building. Sign Up on the Youth Board and reserve your place with a $50 deposit by April 6. Parents & Mentors of Youth
- We will be looking for adult chaperones for both summer trips. Interested parents and mentors, please e-mail Carol McPeeters carol@firstlutheran.com if you'd like to serve on either trip.
Please note – All parents and mentors must go through our SAFE training and have a background check. Plus -- We will not know what our 'chaperone need' is until our youth sign
up. Thanks.
- FAMINE TEAM needed to prepare for the National '30-HOUR FAMINE YOUTH EVENT' on April 25-26! We need adults willing to help support this incredible experiential event. Our
youth, ages 12 and up, will be asked to find sponsors, as they fast to raise money and awareness for millions of starving children around the world. Special provided activities and
area service projects on Friday evening and all day Saturday will help keep our groups mind off of their personal hunger. Adults - please contact Carol McPeeters (292-9125) if you
are interested in this short-term event!
