I serve as the Director of Community Ministries, which focuses on fighting hunger and homelessness. In addition, I help to introduce new members to First Lutheran, work with community agencies to help those in need, assist with various stewardship efforts and am the liaison with the School for Young Children, an excellent preschool.
I'm married to Lisa, who works for Univar, a chemical distribution company. We have two daughters, Christina and Catherine, and four grandchildren, Mason, Maya, Emily and Rachael.
After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill in 1978, I worked in newspapers in Shelby, Greensboro and Greenville, SC, before joining the staff here in January 1990. I like to read, travel and pull for the Tar Heels!
